The Dunoon presents Argyll Rally is taking place this weekend. In preparation for the big event, LJX Tree Surgeons has been supporting our friends and Glendaruel stage event sponsor, LJX Training. Our machinery has been out in force to help clear vegetation to make way for a temporary car park, which will host visitors who'll travel from all over the country not to miss this fabulous motorsport fixture.
Run as a closed-road forest rally, the event will see some of the best drivers from across the UK compete. Organised by Mull Car Club, the "Dunoon presents Argyll Rally" made a return to the British rallying calendar in 2017, after a 13-year break. Formerly known as Burmah Rally, it started out in the early 70's, when the British Rally Championship assembled in the region, with big names such as Roger Clark and Jimmy McRae leading the field. Forming the 5th round of the ARR Craib Scottish Rally Championship, the Argyll Rally is not to be missed.
This year, the rally is also taking part in a Carbon Offset programme, which will see a significant number of trees being planted in the area in collaboration with the Scottish Woodland Trust. The vegetation that we clear for the car park, which is a temporary measure, will be left to grow back too - so all good for the environment.
We wish all competitors well over the weekend. Some of our team will be there to support you!
